Interrogative pronouns and interrogative adjectives. Ask questions in Spanish!

Probably when you start speaking in  a foreign language, one of the most useful things is to know how to ask about prices, places, people......

So on this post we are going to go through the interrogation pronouns and interrogation adjectives.

What are the interrogation pronouns? Basically they are the words used without a noun to ask questions like: Who, What, whose, which, whom.....

In Spanish the interrogative pronouns are:

Singular                                   Plural
¿Qué?                                     ¿Qué?                         What
¿Cuál?                                    ¿Cuáles?                      Which/ what
¿Quién?                                  ¿Quiénes?                   Who
¿Cuánto?/Cuánta                   ¿Cuántos?/¿Cuántas?  How much/ how many


Here you have some examples:

¿Qué estas cocinando?
¿Qué escuchas en la radio?
¿Qué son estas cosas?

¿Cuál es tu libro favorito?
¿Cuál es tu deporte favorito?

¿Quién fue el campeón del mundo de ciclismo?
¿Quién es tu hermano?

¿Cuánto es?
¿Cuántos  tienes?

So basically these are the interrogative pronouns in Spanish.


Related to this we have the "interrogative adjectives" which are basically the  interrogative words, Qué, cuánto/cuánta, cuántos, cuántas  used with nouns.

Examples:

¿Qué café te gusta más?
¿Cuántos familiares están en la comida?
¿Cuánto dinero tienes en el bolsillo?

As you see in this questions  the interrogative pronouns are followed by a noun, that is why we called them interrogative adjectives.
